Notes on maps help traveler recall

Often times I think back on a trip that I’ve taken and I cannot remember the names of specific towns or cities that I visited. I decided that I would start making notes on the maps that I use to get around. This, I’ve found, helps me to remember my travels better.

I went overseas and visited several countries over the course of a summer. My Bulgaria map has extensive notes along with coffee stains. I always think of the Black Sea when I think back to that trip.

I also wrote on my map of Vienna Austria. Austria is the most beautiful country that I have ever been to. I think of The Sound of Music when I think of the weeks I spent there in Salzburg. The flowers were blooming and I wanted to sing my heart out like Julie Andrews.

I have several Greece maps because there is so much to see throughout the entire country. Athens is beautiful and historic but my favorite was Sparta because I felt like I was in one of the classics about the Greek gods and mortals.
