Choosing a New York Restaurant
New York is a diverse place harboring lots of different cultures. In fact there are few cities around the world that has as large a range of restaurants.
Some of the top New York restaurants have unsurpassed quality and many of the chefs are celebrities with many having TV shows. Much of the food available around the city comes from afar although there are a few dishes that are unique to New York including, pizza, pretzels and cheesecake.
The New York deli developed from the large Jewish population of the city. Many of the cities great delicacies such as pastrami on rye, bagels with lox and cream cheese and blintzes became available through the delis.
Areas in New York that are worth exploring include Chinatown and Little Italy.
