Singapore is unlike most South East Asian countries as it is a society based on efficiency and order. Most Asian countries are renowned as being third world countries with much of the population being poor an impoverished. There are also high crime rates. Many visitors to the south east part of Asia choose Singapore to be their base from which they will visit other countries in the area.
Singapore is popular with western tourists because it has a low crime rate and it is clean. It also has a well ordered transportation system with great roads and bus services. In the city the buildings are clean and modern and the infrastructure is strong. The public buildings such as hospitals are clean and offer high levels of technology. Facilities for tourists are excellent with an abundance of fine restaurants and 5 star Singapore hotels.
Attractions for visitors include a city based on diversity where cultures merge in the food, art and architecture. There are ethnic areas, modern business centers, quiet gardens and famous tourist attractions. There are many different religious buildings to visit including churches, mosques, and temples. A popular tourist center is the Orchard Road which encompasses popular shopping outlets and restaurants. Catch a boat ride in the Singapore River and get an alternate view of the city. If you need to just relax there are many spas located close to the popular tourist and business centers.
