Ibiza – Entertainment Capital of the World?
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Ibiza is known as just that. A place to relax during the day, and to party all night. The tourism industry grew during the 1980′s and 90′s highly due to the onset of package vacation deals being offered by many travel agents. Ibiza before hand had been known as the island for the rich and famous staying at five star hotels Ibiza, but with more people being able to afford the packages, more people started traveling there to enjoy the nightlife, the beautiful white beaches and the tranquility of the smallest of the Balearic Island Archipelago.
With more than 60 beaches there is plenty of outside adventure to be had. And with more than 300 days of sun per year that is a lot of time and opportunity to do just that. It can tend to get a bit hot in temperature during the summer, but the cool ocean breezes make the nighttime a very pleasant time. A lot of people that come from places with harsh and cold weather in the summer fine it a delightful retreat, as the winters on the island, while a bit cooler than the summer, are still quite mild and enjoyable. Many people enjoy water sports, such as sailing, and swimming, scuba diving and snorkeling through the lagoons and the coves that are surrounding the coasts and the beaches. Hiking and mountain biking are popular activities as the countryside landscapes and ocean views are spectacular. This combined with flavorful traditional Spanish restaurants, budget and low cost as well as many 5 star Ibiza hotels leaves something for every-one’s taste and budget.
Ibiza is also known for it’s farming and agriculture. Fields and orchard of figs and olive trees, along with almond and pine line the country side and make for very pleasant days of wandering and picnicking. There are also many other more exciting and lively activities to partake in as one of the aspects the island is known for is the vast numbers of festivals that occur throughout the year. The dancing and partying goes on all night. As well as the opportunity to sample one favorite of Spain which is the food perhaps in some 5 star Ibiza hotels. Known for the flavors that are influenced by the ever growing cultural diversity and the seriousness and love of food known to the locals of the islands it’s no wonder the it is becoming a true hot spot for food, fun and relaxation in the Mediterranean.
