Valentine’s Day in New York City
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, many couples are dreaming of a romantic getaway to New York City. Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, making a weekend trip even easier to execute. And few cities in the US offer the romantic options of New York.
Check into one of the many fabulous New York hotel suites throughout the city. Many hotels are offering Valentine’s specials with dinner, roses, champaign and chocolates waiting in your room. With over 25,000 restaurants to choose from, there will be plenty of romantic dinners available, no matter what type of cuisine you prefer. Just make sure to book your dinner reservations when you book your room. Even in this economy, restaurants are going to be full on that Saturday in February.
One of the most romantic images of New York City is a carriage ride through Central Park. Snuggle together under a blanket as the horse takes you on a scenic drive. Stop off at Rockefeller Center to go ice skating. Now that the holiday crowds have dwindled, there should be plenty of room to enjoy yourselves.
No romantic trip to New York would be complete without sharing a classic NYC kiss. In addition to the skating rink and carriage rides, other “best kissing spots” include the Brooklyn Bridge and the top of the Empire State Building. And for those looking to make this Valentine’s Day even more memorable, some of the top spots for proposing include the Hayden Planetarium, the Revson Fountain at Lincoln Center, the Chinese Scholars Garden at the Staten Island Botanical Garden and Ellis Island. Or simply surprise your sweetie with a trip to Tiffany’s.
