The Singapore Tyler Print institute, located at 41, Robertson Quay, Singapore 238236, is a short taxi ride to the River District from one of the best five star hotels Singapore . In addition to the STPI facility, the River District is known for its’ many entertainment venues and chic boutiques. The STPI is dedicated to fostering printmaking, papermaking and paper based art practice. It houses a formidable collection and also thrives on its’ educational capabilities.

This restored 19th Century warehouse, which opened in 2002, is a State of the art campus that facilitates the exploration of paper making and printmaking.   STPI is a fully equipped printmaking facility, a professional art gallery, a paper mill and a school. This entire process takes place in one building alongside the Singapore River. In addition to the artists in residence, local art students can apply for internships in the STPI workshop & paper mill.  Experienced printmakers are invited to share their expertise with other artists. This collaboration contributes to the unconventional and innovative works the STPI is known for. Over the past 5 years the institute has curated and featured a series of impressive exhibitions including American abstract expressionist and printmaker, Robert Motherwell and graffiti artist Keith Haring.  “The Vollard Suite” the work of Pablo Picasso, has also been featured. This complete set of 100 prints made between 1930 and 1937 was valued at US $1.3 million (S$2 million). According to STPI Director Irene Lee, it is the goal of the STPI to put Singapore on the map of the international art world. Surely they are succeeding by their contribution of unique and world class works of art.
