Liza Minnelli in New York

Liza Minnelli is an American theatre icon. She is also the daughter of the famous actress Judy Garland and film director Vincente Minnelli. She credits her parents for giving her the gift of voice and performance and many awards and honors congratulate her for exercising her talents. She recently performed at the Tony Award Ceremony at Radio City Music Hall and was received with great accolades and respect. She has been a major attraction on the New York stages throughout her career and tourists visiting the city stay in a best New York City hotel to see her.
Minnelli won an Oscar Award for her role in the film Cabaret. She has also won five Tony Awards, and a special Grammy Award for Lifetime Achievement. She began her career recording several studio albums for A&M Records. These early recordings have since become major collection items and continue to be re-released. Her signature song is New York New York and she has been invited to special engagements just to sing this one song. She has collaborated with many other artists including the Pet Shop Boys for their album Results. She also worked on promotional videos for the songs, which gave her renewed exposure and introduced her to a younger audience.
She has worked on many Broadway productions. In 1997 she took over the title role in Victor/Victoria after Julie Andrews retired from it. Her latest project was produced at the Palace Theatre and was solo performance called Liza’s at the Palace. This special engagement performance ran from December of 2008 through January of 2009. She has also been portrayed on Broadway. She is a character in the Australian Musical The Boy From Oz. The production stared Hugh Jackman and Stephanie J. Block played the role of Liza Minelli. She is also frequently impersonated by drag performers.
