Thinking of taking a holiday to India? Then think no further, Goa is the place to go. This is India’s hottest, most popular tourist attraction, bringing vacationers from all over the world to enjoy all the fabulous amenities Goa offers. Is your vision of Paradise the warmth of a bright sun to bask in, rolling waves coming in from clear blue water, clean, white sand to walk barefoot in, spectacular sunrises and sunsets, delicious foods and beverages, then Goa is for you. And if all this isn’t enough, there are many interesting sites to visit and explore. Ancient exhibits, museums, stunning architectural structures and churches, native exhibits, quaint fishing villages, flamboyant nightclubs and party places, romantic hideaways for newlyweds, water sports and more. It doesn’t matter whether you are young or just young at heart, frisky or frail, wild and crazy or quiet and shy, Goa has something for everyone. You can spend your entire vacation relaxing and reading on the beach or living it up at one of many Goa luxury hotels. Flip flops or stilettos, fresh fish in a paper cup on the beach or grand cuisine with the finest linens…your choice. The memories you make here will be etched in your mind for a very long time to come.

Most people love shopping for souvenirs to take home, whether for friends and family or for themselves as additional reminders of their fabulous time spent in Goa. Some of the more popular items are Chikan’s, a wonderfully versatile garment that has timeless appeal. The translation of chikan is embroidery, thus intricate designs and patterns are painstaking stitched onto the various fabrics. Using different colors and weights of the colored threads creates very unique and interesting designs. Nur Jehan, the lovely wife of Mughal Emperor, Jahangir is believed to have introduced Chikan to the area. It has tremendous appeal and makes a must have item in your wardrobe. Perhaps your souvenir would be a Saurashtra umbrella used by dashing, bride hunting young men. These umbrellas are huge with bright colored flowers and are used to protect the gentleman from the sun. Whether decorative or functional, these are great items to return home with. Another decorative or functional souvenir is the bamboo fan. Create your own breeze or decorate your wall or table. Is relaxation on your agenda? Try a crocheted hammock. What a wonderful way to relax with a good book, enjoy your favorite beverage or gently sway yourself into that afternoon nap.

Another tourist possibility is the wildlife…animal not human. Goa has bird and wild animal sanctuaries available for visiting. There are plenty of wild animals living in the forests as well. However, It is not recommended you seek these animals out. You will see plenty of birds and animals at the sanctuaries and zoos. After experiencing all Goa has to offer, making your memories and your purchases, you will come away refreshed and with renewed energy to return to your real world. But you will always be able to return to Goa, if only in your mind.
