Hottub Care

Buying a new portable spa is a very exciting process, and it hints at all the new pleasures to come, and all in your own back yard!  There are a few basic things to know once you get started, and then it’s easy and fun to learn as you go.  You’ll be finding yourself having conversations with strangers focusing on hottubs, sharing secrets and nice tidbits of information.  It becomes something you start to think about more often, and you’ll very likely begin daydreaming about your hottub.  It’s easy to see why.  There are so many pleasant possibilities that are suddenly open when you have your own spa.  The benefits are tremendous, from having wonderful dinner parties to the fantastic things hottubs can do for your health.

When it comes to hottub care, you’ll want to find out everything you can about the maintenance of your hottub.  Getting the chemical balance right is the most important thing, and it can seem rather daunting at first, but it soon becomes second nature.  There are just a few basic principles to get you started, and after that, all the smaller details might start to become part of the conversations with strangers.  It’s interesting how it happens, but it is sort of like belonging to a secret club, but take it from us, there’s no secret handshake!

The main thing that hottubs require for care is a periodic changing of the water.  It’s recommended to keep this between 2-3 months, where the tub needs to be emptied and refilled at this time.  This ensures that you and your family are always enjoying your hottub experience in fresh, clean water.  The next main thing is to watch for the ph balance.  This can be tested with simple little strips that are inexpensive and easy to use.  For the cleaning agent, speak to your representative about what’s the perfect cleaner for your spa, as some take to specific chemicals.  Chlorine is, of course, the most common, as it’s the most effective.  It’s even used in drinking water.  Ozone is a very useful chemical treatment, but it’s not able to do the work alone.  Check into other cleansers such as bromine, and in no time you’ll be able to moderate the chemical levels for a safe and clean hottub!
