Great Customer Service Can Reduce Stress Levels in Consumer

Customer Service skills have always been an important aspect of any company’s policies, and are particularly relevant for any business that had direct interaction with the consumer or client. This can include various services and also product sales. Many theories argue the increasing importance of excellent customer service in this increasingly competitive world market. Intelligent and ethical business persons such as Steve Barbarich are also aware of its growing importance to consumers.

While almost any consumer will recognize and agree with the importance of receiving quality service from any business, they may not be consciously aware of all of the reasons for it. Examples of the various dynamics involved with the importance of great customer service can be seen in many fields. A commonly recognized example by many people will take place in a restaurant. In a stressed or recessed economy consumers can feel stress when spending any money or making even a minor purchase. This can spill over into dining out. If a diner is feeling even the slightest bit of conflict over spending the money to eat in the restaurant, the service he receives can serve to mitigate or dispel the tension or to completely exasperate it. This is largely due to the fact that when money is tight, a consumer will pay a great deal more attention to what they are actually receiving for their money. Less than quality food and poor or inadequate service will definitely cause a lot more frustration than when the consumer has no concern over the cost.

In addition, if the consumer receives friendly and timely attention from the wait personal, this will almost instantly reduce the level of conflict or anxiety the consumer may have been fleeing regarding the encounter. So, while most, if not all, consumers will rate excellent customer service high on their priorities, they may not realize that in times of financial stress, it becomes even more important and can also affect the level of stress the consumer is experiencing. With this information at hand, it is easy to understand that people will choose to spend their money in a location that may also affect their sense of well being and even their health.
