Surfing Phuket
Today in was the day where Billy and I hitch a flight to Phuket, Thailand. I woke up before the sunrise and went to the front of the house to meet up with Billy and his grandmother. His grandmother was quite a funny lady. She claimed to be 92 years old, but that age changed about every half-hour through out the mornings conversation. It kept going down, from 92 to 88 to 82, etc. Then she started singing and doing karate type of moves, again and again. I wish I would’ve made a video of her, she was a stitch.
I also met Billy’s mom, she cooked us one amazing breakfast. All kinds of food, bacon, pancakes, waffles, eggs, ham and hash-browns, it was a feast. Later, Billy and I took a bike ride through town, we saw a huge monitor lizard, which is basically a lizard on steroids and about the size of a medium dog! Almost looked like one of those Komodo Dragons. We just hung out together and after our bike ride, we packed up our stuff and hopped in Billy’s aunt’s car and headed off to the airport.
When we arrived at the airport, the airline delayed our flight by 2 hours. So, Billy and I went for a drink or two. On the bus to the plane, we actually ran into 2 other people that were going to meet us in Phuket, Abigale and Sherri. They apparently booked the same flight as ours. We all boarded the airplane and flew off to Phuket. After an hours ride from Phuket’s airport we arrived at one of the Phuket best hotels, a really great place. Very modern, with all the great amenities for its guests. That night all of us, Billy Abigale, Sherri and I headed to a restaurant that was right on the beach and had a really good dinner.
Of course, after dinner, the first thing we looked for was the waves for surfing. To our surprise there were a lot a great waves! Too bad it was night. The next morning, Billy and I got up right before sunrise and surfed all day long.
